Tyre and rim heights of common bicycle tyres and motorbike tyres

Tyre and rim heights of common bicycle tyres and motorbike tyres

When building or upgrading your electric bike or motorbike, understanding the differences between standard bicycle and motorbike tyre sizes is crucial to avoid frame clearance issues or mismatched appearances. This information is also relevant if you're considering switching to moto rims or fitting fat bike tyres on a standard bicycle frame. Below, common bicycle and motorbike tyre sizes are tabulated with their typical inch-based names in the left column and the corresponding outside tyre diameter in millimeters in the right column. Keep in mind that tyre width and profile can affect overall tyre height. For example, wider tyres are typically taller. It's wise to double-check these sizes with your supplier or measure your tyres before custom projects. To convert between inches and millimeters, multiply by 25.4 (e.g., 26" x 25.4 = 660mm) or divide by 25.4 for the reverse
